It's truly devastating to read about Nicole Marie Towns and the tragedy that happened at the party that night. What's been weighing on my mind is thinking about the witnesses and those who were there—their lives must have been forever changed by what they saw. It's easy to overlook how profound the impact is on those who didn't know Nicole personally but were present. I can't imagine attending a neighborhood gathering and experiencing something so terrifying and life-altering. Questions must linger in their minds every day: How did it escalate to that point? Could anything have been done differently? I hope these individuals are getting the support they need to cope with the trauma. Being in the wrong place at the wrong time should not define their lives, and they deserve as much healing as Nicole's family. My thoughts are with everyone touched by this terrible event.
