Has anyone else noticed the lack of details about Herbert Zickmunt’s disappearance? It’s strange that after all these years, there still seems to be no solid information about what might have happened that day in 1992. I've been following a few older cases, and it’s surprising how little seems to be uncovered about his daily routine or who he might have been in contact with before he vanished. Was there ever any mention of where he was last seen? It's almost as if he just vanished into thin air. It makes me wonder if there’s some missing piece of the puzzle that hasn’t been uncovered or someone out there who remembers something but doesn’t realize its importance. Does anyone have more insight or know of any recent efforts being made to bring fresh attention to his case?

It's always so perplexing to me how someone can just vanish without a trace, like Herbert Zickmunt from Port Jefferson Station. What really catches my attention in cases like this is the lack of leads even after so many years. In most cases, you would expect at least one potential clue to emerge over time through advancements in technology or revisiting evidence. Yet here we are, 31 years later, and it's as if Herbert disappeared into thin air. Does anyone here have insights on how authorities typically handle cold cases like this one, especially when there seems to be nothing new to go on? It's just wild how someone can be listed in databases like NamUs but still remain off the grid. Curious to hear if anyone's come across similar cases that eventually saw resolution, and if so, how they came about it.
