I’ve been following Juan Carlos Romero's case, and it’s truly devastating to see it still unsolved after these years. I was reading about his deep interest in philosophy and science and how driven he was in his academic pursuits. It got me thinking about the impact of such a loss on not just his family, but also his peers and professors at UNM. It seems like he was on the cusp of so much potential, ready to contribute his insights to the world. I can’t imagine the void his absence has left in the classroom and in the discussions he was a part of. I noticed there's been a lack of footage or witnesses, which is baffling given the usually busy area where it happened. Has anyone else heard if there have been any initiatives to improve lighting or increase security around Stanford and Central since his passing? It seems like there should be more measures in place to ensure the safety of students and residents around such a key location. It’s such a sad reminder of the randomness and fragility of life. Hoping that there’s a break in the case soon for Juan Carlos’s family and friends.
