Hey everyone,
I wanted to touch on a part of the January 14, 2019 tragedy that I haven’t seen discussed in much detail here yet – the ongoing safety concerns at the Circle K. It’s deeply concerning to learn that APD was responding to incidents there so frequently, between 20 to 30 times a month. That’s practically daily! It makes you wonder about the root causes behind this worrying frequency. Were there enough preventive measures in place, or did this kind of environment somehow get normalized?
When thinking about Jesús Lopez and James Ronquillo and their families, I can’t help but feel that more could have been done to make that gas station a safer place. In communities where crime rates are a persistent issue, businesses should perhaps be taking more proactive stances on safety, investing in things like better lighting, cameras, and even security personnel. It’s not just about liability; it’s about dignity and respect for the people who pass through those doors every day.
Has anyone seen any updates about improvements to security there since this incident? It's worrying to think about how incidents like this can ripple out, affecting not just the direct victims but the wider community who just want to feel safe pumping gas or grabbing a quick snack during their day. Let's hope the investigation moves forward and provides some justice and closure to the families.
Sending thoughts and support to the loved ones of Jesús and James. They deserve answers and change.
Stay safe out there.
Has anyone else been keeping an eye on the lack of updates from APD regarding the Circle K shooting? It's just so distressing that Jesús Lopez and James Ronquillo lost their lives, and yet the case seems to have stalled with no suspects or arrests in sight. I can't even imagine how frustrating and painful this is for their families, waiting for justice.
It really makes you wonder about the security protocols at that gas station. Given how frequently police were called there prior to the incident, it seems something should have been done earlier to prevent this tragedy. I read about some law firm mentioning possible legal actions against the store for not having adequate security. Maybe this could open some doors for change, not just legally, but also in how security is managed at locales like this.
With no new details on the investigation, I'm hoping APD is still actively looking into this. Keeping Jesús and James's families in our thoughts. They deserve answers and, more importantly, justice.
Has anyone else been following the tragedy at the Circle K in Albuquerque from 2019? I find it deeply unsettling that this location was such a hotspot for crime, reportedly seeing police visits up to 30 times a month. It just makes me think about how the lack of security measures could have played a role in what happened to Jesús Lopez and James Ronquillo. I'm not pointing fingers, but shouldn't a place with that kind of history have taken stronger actions to protect the people coming and going at all hours? My heart goes out to their families. Especially thinking of James, who seemed to have been a pillar in his community, being a lifelong resident. It's incredibly sad that their lives were cut short like that. Anyone else have thoughts on this? It just feels like something crucial was missed in keeping that area safe.
