Hey everyone,
I've been thinking about the impact of drugs on violent behavior, especially in cases like the tragic loss of Leo Jaquez. It’s just so chilling to consider how substances like methamphetamine can push someone to commit such horrific acts. From what we’ve learned, Donovin Santiago had been using meth for days before the shooting, which likely played a significant role in his violent actions that night. It seems like drug use was a huge factor in escalating his aggression towards his girlfriend and ultimately led to the tragic encounter with Leo.
It raises so many questions about the availability of these drugs and the desperate need for better intervention and support systems. My heart goes out to Leo's family; it's terrible to think that such a selfless act ended in such a senseless way because of Santiago's impaired state. It’s painful to see how the ripple effects of drug abuse harm not just users but innocent bystanders and their families. If only resources for addiction were more widely available, maybe we’d see fewer stories like this. What are your thoughts on drug policies and their impact on crime? Have you seen any positive examples of programs that seem to be making a real difference in your community?
Sending my thoughts to everyone affected by this tragedy.

Hey everybody,
I've been following the tragic case of Leo Jaquez and wanted to talk about something that crossed my mind. It's incredibly sad what happened to Leo, and my heart goes out to his family and friends—especially his four kids. I can’t even imagine the hole left in their lives.
What struck me while reading updates was the community response. The fundraiser for Leo’s family shows how people can come together in the face of tragedy. It's touching to see people rallying to provide support in such difficult times. I see this as a reminder of the power of community, even when it seems the world is filled with so much darkness.
It also made me think about the importance of stepping in to help others, just like Leo did. It takes incredible courage to intervene in dangerous situations, and it's clear Leo was a truly selfless person. If only things had turned out differently...
Does anyone know if there’s still a way to support his family? It'd be nice to help them even now, years later.
Just thoughts that have been weighing on my mind. Would love to hear how others feel.
Stay safe, everyone.
