Does anyone else find it completely chilling that this happened right in a neighborhood so many of us know? I used to walk by that block on South Kansas Avenue all the time, and it’s hard to believe something so tragic could unfold there. My thoughts are with Cristal Lee Aguilar’s family; I can only imagine the pain they’re going through. It’s troubling to think about what aggravated this financial dispute to escalate to such violence. It's a reminder that we often don't know what's going on under the surface in people's lives. I hope the community can come together to support one another and work towards preventing more situations like this. Let's hope for some peace and healing for all those affected by this senseless act.
