I’ve been following the case of Michael Barela’s murder and I keep wondering about the community’s response. Petaca is such a small, tight-knit place, and events like this can really shake people to their core. Does anyone know if the community has come together in any way to honor Michael’s memory or support his family? It’s always tragic to see gun violence hit home, and I hope they have found ways to lean on each other during such a challenging time. It must be especially hard for those who knew both Michael and Bonita. What a complicated and painful situation for everyone involved.
