It's really puzzling how the initial report about James Curtis Kitchens didn't happen until years after he was last seen. It makes me wonder if there were any reasons for the delay beyond just losing touch. Did the sister have reservations about James' situation, or is it possible there were family dynamics we aren’t aware of? Also, the conflicting stories about his divorce and his plans around that time add another layer to the mystery. Has anyone come across similar cases where the lack of a missing person's report for so long had a significant impact on the investigation? How does law enforcement usually handle situations like this where there’s such a substantial gap between the disappearance and the reporting?
Has anyone else dug into James Curtis Kitchens' case and come across the odd delays in reporting him missing? I wasn't aware until recently that it took until 2002 for James' sister to report him missing, which seems really strange given that he vanished in '98. I get that sometimes families have complicated relationships, but four years is a long time. Did anyone else find any info about what was going on with his family during that time? I wonder if the lack of immediate action hindered any early investigation efforts or if the local authorities even had much to go on from the start, especially with that business trip confusion. Curious about what everyone else thinks, or if there are similar cases out there with delayed reports.
Has anyone else noticed how James Curtis Kitchens wasn't reported missing until four years after he disappeared? That is such a huge gap! I’m really puzzled by this. I mean, it’s not unusual for there to be delays in reporting missing persons, but four years seems excessive. Could there have been any reasons for this delay, like family dynamics or maybe unresolved personal issues? It's strange knowing his sister didn't file the report until 2002, especially when you consider he was supposedly in the area at least into 1999. Does anyone have any insights or similar cases where the reporting delay ended up being a crucial factor? Curiosity is getting the best of me here!
