Has anyone else been thinking about how crucial it is to have better support systems in place for victims of abuse like Alexia and Mario? It just breaks my heart thinking of what they and their families went through. I can't even imagine the pain Alexia's mom must be feeling, knowing that she took the step to get a restraining order and it still ended like this. It's just so frustrating to see how these systems sometimes fall short. Seeing the warning signs isn't enough if they're not accompanied by rapid and effective actions from authorities. I really hope this case pushes for more awareness around these issues and brings about some necessary changes so fewer families have to go through such pain. We'd love to hear other people's thoughts on what more could be done to help folks in these kind of desperate situations. Stay strong, Albuquerque.
