I've been thinking a lot about the trial of Zion Blake Gibson and the emotional impact it must have had on Rosa Elena Trujillo's family and friends. It's so difficult to comprehend how relationships that once seemed intimate can end in such devastating circumstances. One thing I've been reflecting on is the poor little child left behind in all this. At only three years old, they're too young to understand what's happened, but their life has been irreversibly changed. My heart goes out to the family members who will now have to help this child grow up without a mother and deal with the complex emotions tied to the situation. I hope we, as a society, can find ways to better support children and families affected by domestic violence. We need more resources, awareness, and preventive measures to ensure these tragedies don't keep recurring. It’s a long road ahead, but focusing on communities supporting their members in need can make a large difference. Wishing strength and healing to everyone affected.
