I've been following Kimberly Yacone's case closely, and I can't help but feel immense sympathy for her 17-year-old son. It's unimaginable what he must be going through, having lost his mother in such a violent way and at the hands of someone who was supposed to be a protector. I read that he was the one who made the 911 call—such bravery in the face of an unimaginable situation. This young person was thrust into circumstances that no teenager should ever have to face. My thoughts go out to him as he navigates life after this tragedy. I hope he has a strong support system around him to help him heal and move forward. Does anyone know if there's any community support or resources in place for him? If not, maybe we as a community could brainstorm how to help those impacted by domestic violence? It's vital we support those who are left to pick up the pieces.
