Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussions around David Sullivan's case, and there's one aspect that I keep thinking about—the location of his apartment. It was on Meadow Street, and from what I've gathered, it seemed like such a peaceful area. Does anyone know if there were any particular security concerns around that neighborhood at the time, or was this truly a complete anomaly? It's just so unsettling to think something like this could happen in a place where students and community members probably felt really safe.
I've been reading some news archives, and it seems like Amherst hadn't seen a homicide since 1988 before this horrible incident. I can't even imagine how his family and friends are coping with this. The idea that a place that was likely a comforting home to David could become the scene of such a tragedy is just beyond words.
If anyone knows more about that area around the time of the incident or has insights into how things have changed since 2004, I would appreciate hearing about it. The whole community must have been in shock, and I guess there's a lot to process for them even years later.

I’ve been following the David C. Sullivan case closely, and something that's really weighing on me is the relationship between Sullivan and Johnston. They were childhood friends, which makes this whole situation even more tragic for both families involved. I can't imagine the mix of emotions everyone must be feeling: betrayal, sorrow, confusion. Growing up with someone and then having something so irreversible happen between you must be unimaginable. It makes me wonder about the pressures or personal conflicts either of them might have been facing that led to this devastating outcome. Even small communities like Amherst are not immune to such tragedies, which feels like a stark reminder of how fragile relationships can be. My thoughts are with Sullivan's family as they grapple with this enormous loss, and also with Johnston's family, who must be in disbelief as they navigate this complex and painful situation. It's a harrowing reminder of the tangled lives we lead and how they can sometimes end in such a shocking manner.
