I'm just trying to wrap my head around how Deondra Lee became a victim this way. They say timing is everything, and the fact that it all happened on the Fourth of July, when everyone's out enjoying fireworks and family BBQs, just adds an extra layer of sorrow to it. This should never have been the timeline for Deondra and his family. I'm relieved that justice was served with the convictions of Carleton and Phillips, but I wonder how Deondra's family is coping with such a stark contrast in memories every year on that date. It must be incredibly difficult to relive those emotions, knowing it's a day meant for celebration for so many others. Sending heartfelt support to those who knew and loved Deondra. May the memories of happier times bring them some peace.
