I've been going over some old articles and discussions about the Cowden family tragedy, and something that really stands out to me is the cave where Belinda and the children were found. How is it possible that search teams missed it initially? I understand it's a remote area, but the thought that someone might have moved the bodies there later is chilling. It makes me wonder if the killer was playing some kind of twisted game or if they were trying to mislead investigators. I can't imagine the pain and frustration Belinda's mother and other family members must feel knowing they were so close to finding their loved ones earlier in the search. It's disturbing to think about how these unidentified details make resolution seem so out of reach, even all these years later. My thoughts are with the Cowden family and the continuing quest for justice.
I can't get the thought out of my mind: did anyone else see the interview with the Grants Pass resident who mentioned searching the cave back in '74? It's so unsettling to think that the bodies might have been moved there later. It makes my heart ache for the Cowden family and what they must have endured. It also makes me wonder about the extent of local involvement or knowledge.
Having a place as remote as that specifically chosen for concealment feels so deliberate. The fact that Lieutenant Kezar pointed out the significance of the killer likely knowing the area really makes me think. Could this detail have been overlooked initially, or was there someone from the community who knew more than they were letting on? I truly hope someone out there remembers something—no matter how small—that could finally bring some answers to the family. It's just so tragic that all these years later, there’s still no justice for them.
