Has anyone else looked into the timeline of threats that Margo Compton received before her tragic murder? I find it so baffling and deeply concerning that despite informing Detective Novello about being followed and threatened, no protective measures were taken. It's devastating to think about how scared she probably was, trying to shield her daughters from such a terrifying situation. The lack of intervention is truly upsetting and makes me question what more could have been done to prevent it. Were the authorities too intimidated by the Hells Angels, or was it a lack of resources? It would be interesting to know if any protocol changes were made in response to this case. This family deserved so much better. My heart aches for Margo and especially for little Sylvia and Sandra, forced into a battle they couldn't understand. What are your thoughts?
Hey everyone,
I've been digging into the Gaston murders and wanted to share some thoughts on the incredibly risky position Margo E. Compton found herself in—the decision to testify against the Hells Angels. It really brings into focus the enormous bravery she showed, knowing the danger it put her in. I can't begin to imagine the fear she must have felt, especially as a mother of young twins.
Aside from her understandable fear and the threats she was receiving, what stands out to me is the failure of the system to offer her any kind of protection. Margo had reached out to Detective Tony Novello with her concerns about being followed, yet nothing was done to safeguard her and her family. It's so frustrating to think that maybe, just maybe, things could have turned out differently if more protective measures had been in place.
It's a chilling reminder of the consequences faced by those who stand up against criminal organizations. Margo's story is a testament to how desperately the justice system needs to find better ways to protect courageous individuals who are willing to put themselves at risk for the greater good.
Would love to hear what others think about this aspect of the case—what could have been done differently, and what needs to change in similar cases today?
Thinking of Margo, Sylvia, Sandra, and Gary's families, and hoping they're finding some peace.
Take care, everyone.
Hi everyone,
I've been researching Margo Compton's case, and I can't stop thinking about the threats she received before the murders. It seems like the system really let her down by not offering any protection despite her warnings. It's a chilling reminder of how vulnerable witnesses can be when they decide to stand up against dangerous organizations like the Hells Angels. The fact that Margo was taking such a huge risk to ensure a safer life for her kids is just devastating. I'm curious, though, about the measures in place today to protect people in similar situations. Given the lessons learned from this case, has there been any improvement in offering protection to those at risk of retaliation? What do you all think?
