I can’t help but think about how the town of Granite must have felt during this tragedy. With only around 20 residents, losing someone as pivotal as Deputy Sheriff Bud Morrow must have been a huge blow. It’s unsettling to think that such a tight-knit community had to confront this terrible betrayal from within. Morrow wasn’t just a law enforcement officer; he was basically everything to them — their protector, leader, and, in many ways, a friend or even family to the townspeople. Knowing he was betrayed by people he probably knew personally is a chilling reminder of how trust can be shattered in the most unexpected places. My heart goes out to everyone in Granite who had to face not only the loss of Bud but perhaps also a loss of innocence about their small town. It must have been an incredibly tough reality to accept.
