Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the potential role of the community in Dan Merton Thomas's case. It's disheartening to know it's been nearly 30 years, and this case still remains unsolved. What really strikes me is the report of a group of young individuals seen nearby just before the incident. Could they have seen something or maybe even know the shooter? I can't imagine the pain Dan's family has gone through, not having answers all these years. It's so important for anyone who might remember anything unusual from that day to consider speaking up. Even small details could make a difference. Portland is quite a tight-knit community, and keeping this case in our conversations might lead to a breakthrough. Let’s hope the cold case team gets a crucial lead from someone who holds a piece of the puzzle, perhaps unknowingly. If you or someone you know recalls anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to Crime Stoppers. Perhaps if more people are aware of this story, justice might finally be served. Stay safe, everyone.
