Has anyone else noticed how crucial eyewitness testimony can be in cases like Evelin Navarro-Barajas’s? The fact that the shooting happened so close to midnight, with friends and children around, you'd think someone must have remembered some key details, even if it was just something small. It saddens me that more than three years later, the case still hasn't been solved.
I keep thinking about how important it is for the community to feel safe enough to come forward with information. I imagine how tough it must be for those who might know something but are afraid to speak due to the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. It's daunting that this seems to have been gang-related, even though Evelin and her friends weren't involved in gangs.
