I can't stop thinking about that loving bond Kara must have shared with her little boy. As a parent myself, it just hits hard imagining a child growing up without the warmth and guidance of their mother. From what I've read, she seemed to be adored by those around her, and her smile apparently lit up the room. How do you even begin to explain such an absence to a two-year-old? I hope Kara's family can find strength in one another during this unimaginably painful time. It’s a reminder for us all to hold our loved ones tight. Sending love and light to Kara’s family and friends as they navigate through this darkness.
It's so tough to wrap my head around the tragedy that happened to Kara Ewing and her family. One thing that's been really sticking with me is the role of law enforcement in this case. From what I've read, the Washington County Sheriff's Office acted quickly, which made a big difference in apprehending Lisa Akers the very next morning. It’s heartbreaking that they couldn't have saved Kara, but at least their swift actions prevented any further harm.
I'm also curious if anyone knows more about the relationship between Kara and Lisa. It's so unsettling to think someone you know could turn against you so violently. My heart hurts for Kara's boyfriend too, having survived such a horrific event. Sending positive thoughts their way as he recovers, and I hope he finds the support he needs during this incredibly tough time. If any locals have further insight on how the community is coping or supporting each other, I’d love to hear. It’s in the face of such tragedy that community strength becomes so important.

Hi, my name is Acasia. And I was also one of the other people there BUT the only one to have stayed and called 911 over and over again. (service wasn't the greatest) The only relationship that Kara and Lisa had was that they were roommates and didn't talk to eachother. That day still haunts me, she even pointed the gun at me and the gun jammed. And Washington county might have been on it and was able to get her but that didn't mean shit, she dragged on her time in jail to when it ce down for trail she pleaded the crazy card and then prolonged that to the mental hospital just releasing her and she hasn't even been convicted of what she has done. And not only that she wrote a 2 page letter and posted on Facebook apologizing for the things she is about to do!!

I just came across this case and I'm struggling to wrap my head around it. My heart goes out to Kara Ewing’s family and her little boy. I can't imagine how hard this must be for them.
I'm curious about Lisa Akers' background and their relationship beforehand. From what I’ve gathered, they were living together, but there's scarce info on any disputes or issues they might have had. It's puzzling. Does anyone else have more insight into this? It makes you wonder about what was happening behind closed doors that led to such a dreadful event.
