Has anyone else noticed how cases like Clarence Edward Smith's are often overshadowed by numbers and statistics? While Portland's rising homicide rates are truly alarming, it feels like individual stories get lost in the shuffle. Clarence wasn't just a statistic; he was a member of our community. From what little I understand, he lived in Old Town, which has had its share of struggles. It’s sad that these incidents are increased in areas that already face challenges. I wish the conversation would shift more towards personal stories and less about the grim numbers. It may help to humanize the victims, drive community involvement, and emphasize that behind each statistic is a life that was unfairly taken. It's a devastating reminder of the ongoing issues we face, and I just hope for justice and peace for Clarence's family and loved ones. ?️
