The memorial dedicated to Sergeant Lilly and other fallen officers in Beckley, WV, really moved me when I visited last year. It's a poignant reminder of the bravery and dedication of those who serve our communities. I think it's remarkable how the local community has rallied to maintain it over the years. It's not just a stone monument; it’s a testament to his life and service and a place for reflection and gratitude. It's dreadful to think of the pain his family must have endured, but hopefully, seeing such community support over the years has provided them some comfort. If anyone else has visited and has any information about upcoming commemoration events or ways to support, please share!
