I've been thinking about the tragic loss of Corporal Marshall Lee Bailey and Trooper Eric Workman, and I have a question about the response to the stop. I've wondered why back-up wasn't immediately called when the traffic stop started escalating. I know it's easy to second-guess when we aren't in the heat of the moment, but could quicker support have changed the outcome? It's incredibly difficult to comprehend the danger officers face every day. My heart goes out to their families and the community; they showed remarkable resilience in seeking justice and supporting one another during such a tough time. If anyone has more insight into police protocols in such situations, I'd appreciate learning more about it.
