I came across an article that talked about Reba Jean Hatcher’s case, and I couldn’t help but feel overwhelmingly tied into her story. One thing I noticed that really gets to me is how often we hear about the silent battles people face behind closed doors. Reba was just going about her life, working at Little General Exxon, probably interacting with people daily who had no idea what she was going through at home. It's scary to think such a tragic fate awaited her. Her loss is a wake-up call that sometimes those closest to you can be the ones harboring the most danger. It’s crucial we create environments where people feel safe reaching out for help and that we support those trying to escape toxic relationships. My thoughts are with Reba’s loved ones and the Comfort community as they navigate this profound loss.
