I recently watched the documentary "Benji" based on Ben Wilson's tragic story, and it brought up an interesting point about the emergency response that day. It took a whole 40 minutes for paramedics to arrive, which is just unimaginable. This delay might have been a crucial factor, considering Ben was taken to St. Bernard Hospital, where they couldn't handle such severe injuries. It's so frustrating to think that proper training and resources might have saved him. As a city, how have we learned and evolved from situations like this to ensure such lapses don't happen today? My heart goes out to Ben’s family—what a tremendous loss for them and for Chicago.
