Did anyone else find the responses from the schools during the manhunt reassuring yet deeply sad? It's a stark reminder of the unpredictable ripple effect these tragic events can have on a community. Knowing that Calhoun Schools, Mineral Wells Elementary, and Parkersburg South High were all placed on lockdown must have been terrifying for students, parents, and staff. Those lockdowns, although essential for safety, show how far-reaching one person's actions can be. My heart goes out not only to the families and friends of Shawn and Brandy but to everyone in the area who must have felt a palpable fear during that time. It's good to see the community took swift action to protect its children, but it’s tragic they even had to. I hope their return to normalcy was as smooth as possible under such distressing circumstances.
