Wow, I can’t believe it's been over seven years since Latania Anderson was taken from this world. My heart goes out to her family and the Auburn Gresham community. I wanted to focus on something I find incredibly troubling—how residents have to live day-to-day in areas where safety feels like a distant dream. I've read so many accounts of people just trying to go about their lives and constantly looking over their shoulders. It's so draining. Latania's story isn't just a statistic; it's a daily reality for those living in neighborhoods grappling with intense violence. I see the efforts being made—community programs, church events, etc.—but it feels like there's still such a long way to go. It's the community who show a truly extraordinary resilience during these times. They deserve so much more support, and I hope one day soon initiatives can bridge the gap and nurture safer environments for people like Latania and her loved ones. Anyone here have thoughts on current programs that seem to be making a positive impact? I'd be hopeful to learn about any progress. Be safe out there.
