Was anyone else surprised by how quickly they moved towards a trial date for Melissa Anne McAtee? I understand the need for justice and closure, especially for David Cottrill’s family and friends, but a trial by August 2018 seems so fast. Could this rush to trial affect the thoroughness of the investigation? I find it commendable that law enforcement acted swiftly, but at the same time, I hope all necessary evidence was carefully gathered and considered. Rushing through such a delicate and devastating case could risk leaving questions unanswered, which would only add to the family's grief. Any thoughts on how this might affect the outcome or even the possibility of an appeal?
