Hi everyone, I've been following the case of young Eliza Kristine Orellana from Gerrardstown, and something that's been on my mind is the impact this tragedy must have had on her school and classmates. Losing a friend or classmate, especially so suddenly and in such a traumatic way, is unimaginable for kids that age. It got me thinking about what kind of support the school might be providing to help the students cope. I hope they’ve brought in counselors or therapists who are trained to handle such sensitive situations. These children must be feeling a whirlwind of emotions—confusion, fear, sadness—and need to know it’s okay to express those feelings. It’s clear that this community has suffered a devastating loss.
