I recently read about the tragedy of Detective Frank Delmege, and I can't stop thinking about the fact that we still don't know much about the suspect(s) involved in his death. It's incredibly frustrating and sad that a case involving such a dedicated officer remains shrouded in mystery after all these years.
I’ve been doing a bit of digging, and it seems like the focus has always been on remembering his service rather than divulging details about the investigation itself. I get that it's important to honor him—as he truly deserves all the respect for his bravery—but I can't help but wonder if there were any leads that just never came to light, or if the investigation hit a dead end given the limited forensics of that time.
Does anyone have any insights or theories about why details about the suspect were never made public? Maybe there were political reasons or a lack of evidence. Either way, it's unfortunate that the truth behind his murder remains elusive. His family and the community deserved closure, and I hope we can continue to share and remember his story in hopes that perhaps someday more information will surface.
