I've been diving into the mind-boggling events of Gitchie Manitou, and an aspect that's been haunting me is how Sandra Cheskey survived such an unimaginable ordeal. Her courage through that night boggles the mind. At only 13, she displayed incredible bravery, especially when you consider that she was tied up, moved around, and saw such unspeakable violence. And yet, somehow, she was able to keep her wits about her to provide the critical testimony that ensured justice was served. It’s a small comfort to know that her actions helped to apprehend and convict those monsters who took the lives of Michael Hadrath, Roger Essem, Dana Baade, and Stewart Baade. Sandra's strength in the face of fear and loss might have saved future lives by ensuring those responsible were put away forever. My heart truly goes out to her and the families of those young souls lost. They must live with this senseless act every day. Sending all my thoughts to everyone affected.
