Hi everyone, I've been reading about the Franken family case from Aplington, and something that really got to me is how Dalene Tjabring must have felt when she arrived at the Franken home that morning. It’s hard to even imagine the shock and devastation she must have experienced. Dalene was just trying to pick up her friend for an appointment, and instead, she uncovered something unimaginable. The way the community has come together to support one another shows how much love they had for this family, but I can’t stop thinking about how this all began with Dalene’s disturbing discovery. It’s such a sad and poignant reminder of how unexpected life can be. Sending strength to anyone who was affected by this tragedy. Let’s continue to be a support system for each other as we try to understand and heal. Thoughts?

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the details of the tragic Franken family case and something that's really been on my mind is the role of mental health and the system's support (or lack thereof) in situations like this. From what I've gathered, Ethel Mae Franken had been under psychiatric care and even had some hospital stays before the incident. It just makes me wonder if there were any signs or cries for help that went unnoticed or if there were barriers that prevented her from receiving the help she needed. It seems like Dalene Tjabring was trying to help by getting her to her appointment, but I'm left questioning if more could have been done by medical professionals or the community to prevent such a horror. My heart goes out to the friends and neighbors who described them as hard-working, nice people. It's so hard to reconcile that image with what happened. If anyone has thoughts or knowledge on how mental health crises were handled during that time, I'd love to hear more. Stay kind and mindful, everyone. It's a grim reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and accessible care for all. Take care, User123
