Hey everyone,
I wanted to talk a bit about the beautiful legacy Day-Day has left behind in our community. When I heard about his tragic passing, it was hard not to think about all the kids he made smile, especially his nieces and nephews. It's evident from the stories that he was more than just an uncle to them; he was a mentor and a role model. How many 22-year-olds do we know who invest so much time in the next generation like he did?
It got me thinking about how his death impacts not just those little ones who adored him, but also how it leaves a larger void in our community. Here was someone who genuinely cared and gave so much of himself. Even with his love for basketball and music, he put family first. It’s such a painful reminder of how fragile life can be and how deeply we need to cherish those around us.
I hope that sharing these positive aspects of his life can serve as a reminder of the good he brought into this world and that as a community, we'll keep pressing for answers. Day-Day deserves that. His family deserves that. Let’s keep his memory alive and push for the justice that’s so desperately needed.
Stay safe, everyone.
Has anyone else been following the investigation into Du-Jor "Day-Day" Simpson's murder? It’s been more than six years since that awful day in August 2017, and it feels like there are still so many unanswered questions. I can't imagine the pain his family must be going through, especially knowing he was such a loving figure to his nieces and nephews. It's beyond frustrating that there haven't been any suspects or arrests.
I keep thinking about how cases like this need more attention because a highlight on the case could be the difference in gathering crucial information from the community. There’s a whole life story and family left in limbo while someone is still out there with knowledge or involvement in this crime.
For anyone in the Davenport area or with ties to that community, please keep talking about Du-Jor and share anything, no matter how small it may seem. His family deserves to know what happened and have some sense of closure. If there’s even one new piece of information, it could reignite the investigation. Is there anything else people suggest we can do to help keep Du-Jor’s story alive and gather tips for law enforcement?
