I've been thinking a lot about the timeline leading up to the tragic loss of Roseanna Otto. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for her loved ones to piece together those last moments and what led to such a horrible event. It seems like there was so much happening in her life before that day in May 2019, and yet, the details feel so fragmented. I read somewhere that neighbors recalled some unusual noises that evening, but it's just heartbreaking how something that could have been dismissed as ordinary turned out to be something so serious. How do we learn to trust our instincts in situations that seem strange but not immediately alarming? It's reminders like this that make me wish we all had a better understanding of when and how to intervene. Sending thoughts and strength to Roseanna's friends and family during all these painful anniversaries.
