Did anyone else notice the length of time it took to identify Dansby’s remains after they were discovered? From April 2021 to May 2023 is more than two years. I’m really curious about why there was such a delay. Was it a backlog at the lab, complexity with the remains, or maybe they had issues locating relatives for DNA comparison? It's intriguing that often these cases have such long timelines after remains are found. Anyone have any insights into what causes such delays in identification processes?
I was reading through Dansby's case again and I'm perplexed by the gap in time between when his remains were found and when they were identified. Over two years seems unusually long for an ID, even with backlog in forensics. Is it possible that there were issues with the initial recovery site or perhaps complications with obtaining DNA samples for confirmation? I’m really curious if anyone has insights or similar experiences—how often does it happen that remains can be found but take so long to ID? Does it mean there might have been some unidentified biological factors or is this just a procedural backlog?
