Pierre D Island, 27, was shot and killed in Chicago on April 26, 2016. His death occurred during a year when the city saw a dramatic surge in homicides, with more than 750 murders recorded by year end.

Island’s killing is described as one of many that underscored the heightened risks in neighborhoods hardest hit by gun violence and the challenges faced by the Chicago Police Department and community leaders at the time. Does anyone have information about the shooting or about Pierre’s life and the community he was part of?
