I've been thinking a lot about the role of restraining orders in cases like Maggie Flint's. It's so frustrating to see that despite the no-contact order in place, Maggie was still in danger from Justin Hurdel. It makes me wonder if there's more that we, as a society, can do to protect victims of domestic violence. Clearly, the system failed Maggie, and it's terrifying to think about how many others might be in similar situations without sufficient protection. My heart goes out to her family and friends who have had to endure this unimaginable loss. We need to push for more resources and stricter enforcement of these orders to truly safeguard those at risk. Has anyone else looked into the efficacy of restraining orders in reducing violence? Would love to hear your thoughts or any suggestions on this issue.
