Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the tragic events in South Jordan and wanted to bring up a question that hasn't been discussed much: the responsibility of firearm owners in securing their weapons. In this case, the guns had been stolen from a relative's home in Sandy. Obviously, this is a huge issue because it played a significant role in how things unfolded that day. I really feel for the families of Taylor and Dayton—it's a pain I can't begin to imagine. However, I think it's important to consider how incidents like this can be prevented going forward. What protocols or safety measures could be put in place to ensure that firearms are stored securely and out of reach, especially from minors? I’ve seen some discussions about gun safes and requiring additional home security systems, but I’d love to hear your thoughts. I'm hoping that out of this terrible situation, we can have a meaningful conversation and advocate for measures that might prevent others from experiencing a similar tragedy. Thanks for letting me share.

I came across this case recently, and my heart goes out to the families involved. It's hard to imagine the grief and confusion they've endured. One thing that keeps coming to mind is the role of the adult and other juvenile who were present upstairs. I know they weren't aware of what was happening, but it must be incredibly haunting to know something so devastating happened right under their noses. I can't help but wonder if they've spoken publicly about their experience or how this tragedy has affected them. It highlights just how quickly life can change and how crucial it is for adults to maintain awareness and security in environments where children are present. My thoughts are with everyone impacted by this senseless loss. ?️
