Has anyone else been reflecting on the impact Harley's loss had on the Brighton High School community? His passion for life was infectious, and it's clear how much he meant to everyone who knew him. It’s comforting to see how the school came together to honor his memory and support each other through this devastating time. The memorial at the Richard L. Guthrie Skate Park was a poignant reminder of his vibrant spirit, and it really showcased how loved he was. It’s a stark reminder of how quickly things can change, and it makes me think about how important it is to focus on gun safety education for our youth. Stay strong, Cottonwood Heights. My thoughts are with Harley's family and friends.
I attended the vigil for Harley last weekend, and I have to say it was one of the most moving experiences of my life. Seeing so many people come together to honor his memory showed just how much he meant to the community. There were classmates, teachers, and even people who didn't know him personally but were touched by his story. The stories shared by his friends about their adventures and the good times they had really painted a picture of a young man who loved life and shared that love with those around him.
It's gut-wrenching to think about what his family is going through, and I can only hope they find some solace in knowing how cherished Harley was. Events like the ones held at the skate park demonstrate the love and support the community has. It emphasizes the need for all of us to come together and support one another, not just in times of tragedy but always.
This incident certainly highlights the urgent need for better education on firearm safety. It's crucial to keep working towards finding ways to prevent such truly awful tragedies from repeating. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this heartbreak; may we learn and change for the better.
