Hey everyone, I stumbled across this case recently, and the detail that really jumped out to me was the text message Benjamin Moncada Rivas sent to his girlfriend, "I'm dead." It's so chilling and eerie to think those might have been his last words just before this tragic event took place. I can't imagine the shock and terror his girlfriend must have felt receiving that message. It makes me wonder about the timing — was Rivas aware of the danger he was in, or was it more of a premonition? The fact that the exact timing of the message isn't clear makes it all the more unsettling. It's such a haunting detail in an already tragic story. My heart goes out to Benjamin's loved ones who have to deal with the pain of such sudden and violent loss. Also, does anyone else feel that the text message could be significant in understanding what led up to the shooting? Would love to hear other thoughts.
