Hey everyone, I've been following the discussions about the tragic wave of violence in Chicago in 2016, and my heart really goes out to all the families affected, including that of Dontay D. Murray. One aspect that I've been curious about is how the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood, where Dontay was killed, has been coping in the years since. Have there been any significant changes or improvements in community safety initiatives there? It's clear that in 2016, the neighborhood was a hotspot for violence, but I'm wondering if local efforts have made a difference since then. I’d love to hear if anyone has information about recent developments or knows of any community organizations that might have stepped up their game since those days. We can't bring Dontay back, nor any of the others lost during that tragic year, but hopefully we can find ways to support these communities and honor their memories by making them safer places.
