Hi everyone,

I've been diving into some of the older unsolved cases in Connecticut and stumbled upon the tragic case of Gary J. Dube from 1972. It's truly devastating that after all these years, his murder remains unsolved. One aspect of this case that really puzzles me is the location where Gary's body was found. If he was a resident of Agawam, MA, how did he end up in Hartford, CT? Was he familiar with the area, or could this suggest that he was possibly lured there by someone he knew? The distance isn't huge, but it's definitely noteworthy. It just makes me wonder if there's a connection between the locations—or if he had friends or acquaintances in Hartford that might be linked to what happened.
If anyone has any other information about the neighborhoods in Hartford during the early '70s or similar unsolved cases from that time, please share. It seems like such a long shot, but sometimes even the smallest detail can unravel these cold cases. My heart goes out to Gary's family and friends who have carried this loss for so long. They deserve answers, and Gary deserves justice.

Would love to hear your thoughts or any additional insights you might have.
Has anyone else been following the case of Gary J. Dube? It's so frustrating how little information is available. I stumbled upon a newspaper archive from the '70s the other day, and there was almost nothing about his murder. It's deeply puzzling how such a serious crime can fade from public attention without any updates or breakthroughs over the years.
Does anyone with connections in Hartford remember hearing anything about this case when it first happened? Sometimes local gossip or family stories can hold small details that never made it to the papers. It just feels like Gary and his family deserve some answers, even all these years later.
Also, if any of you are familiar with Hartford history, was there anything significant going on at the time that might have impacted the police's ability to investigate more thoroughly? I wonder if resources were stretched thin or if there was some bureaucratic hiccup we don't know about...
Let's hope that someday, this case can be revisited with fresh eyes and finally bring some closure to Gary's loved ones. It's never too late for justice.
I came across the case of Gary J. Dube while researching unsolved murders in Connecticut, and I can't stop thinking about it. It baffles me how many of these cases remain open for decades, with families left in the dark about what happened to their loved ones. Gary's story particularly struck me because he was so young and had so much life ahead of him, and to think that someone might have gotten away with his murder is deeply unsettling.
I’ve been digging into newspaper archives from the early '70s, but there’s so little information available. I wonder if there were any witnesses or if his case was overshadowed by other events at the time. It's frustrating to think that vital clues could be buried in police files or somewhere overlooked.
Does anyone here know if there’s been any effort lately to leverage modern technology like DNA analysis on cases from that era? With so many cold cases seeing breaks thanks to advancements and public databases, it’d be amazing if investigators were able to reopen Gary’s case with fresh eyes. My heart goes out to his family—they deserve answers after all these years.
