I've been reflecting a lot on the sheer fear and confusion that must have consumed the victims in the bakery that night. It's gut-wrenching to imagine how people who likely knew and trusted each other in their community were subjected to such a horrendous fate. Helen Giansanti and the others were going about their regular routines, probably planning for the next day, completely unaware of the impending tragedy. My heart goes out to their families and friends who must have been shattered by the cruel loss. It's baffling how one can turn a moment of greed into an irreversible chain of violence. And here we are, decades later, still discussing this unfathomable event. I hope they have found some peace, even with the enormous loss they've endured. Thoughts are with everyone affected every year this time comes around. ?
