I recently came across the ceremony that was held for Officer Gerald T. DiJoseph back in December 2016, where they renamed a part of James Street in his honor. It was touching to read about the march his family led and the presence of the community leaders. Renaming the street "Officer Gerald T. DiJoseph Way" seems like a fitting tribute, and it shows the deep respect and admiration the community continues to have for him. It's so important that we keep the memory of such a dedicated officer alive, not only for his family but for the entire community. It's heartbreaking to think about the immense loss his family suffered and how his children grew up without their father. I am glad the city has taken steps to ensure his legacy is remembered. It makes me wonder how his family is doing now and if they feel the support and love from those around them.
