I’ve been thinking a lot about the bravery of the teachers and staff at Sandy Hook, especially Victoria Leigh Soto. It's beyond words how she acted on pure instinct to protect her students, even giving her life in the most selfless way possible. As much as we mourn for the young souls lost that day, we mustn't forget the courage shown by those who tried to shield them from danger. It's astonishing how someone can summon such bravery in the face of unimaginable terror. I can’t even begin to fathom the loss felt by the families, but I hope they find strength in remembering the heroism of those who cared for their children like their own. ?

I recently came across a part of the Sandy Hook case that really struck me—Jessica Rekos and her love for horses. Her family shared how she dreamed of being a cowgirl, and they had planned to give her horse-themed gifts for Christmas that year. It’s devastating to think about such vibrant childhood dreams cut short so tragically. It really makes you wonder how important it is to ensure a future where kids can safely pursue their passions and dreams. My heart goes out to the Rekos family and every family affected by this senseless tragedy. It’s a painful reminder of how much work we still have to do to protect our communities.
