It's truly difficult to wrap my head around the suffering this family has endured. Carolyn must have been torn, witnessing her son's decline and feeling powerless to stop the tragic outcomes that followed. It's a sobering reminder of the importance of addressing mental health issues openly and promptly, especially when firearms are involved. Millard's behavior had reportedly become more and more erratic after his 2017 arrest, and it makes me wonder about the support systems in place for individuals struggling with mental health post-arrest. My heart goes out to Carolyn and everyone affected by this heartbreaking story as they continue to cope with the consequences of something that perhaps might have been prevented.
