I can't stop thinking about how James' life changed so abruptly the moment he moved into his new place on Chestnut Street. It's devastating to think he was just starting a new chapter, unpacking and setting up his life, when it was all taken away from him in such a brutal and unexpected way. I can't imagine the fear and shock he must've felt in those last moments. The meticulous way Phillips carried out this crime is chilling. The detail about him using a shopping bag to hide his weapon is so unsettling, showing just how premeditated this act was. It makes one wonder what was going through his mind, and what kind of person keeps journals with murder plans. It feels like a scene straight out of a crime novel, but it's the reality for James’ family and everyone else who cared for him. My heart truly goes out to James' loved ones. The wait for justice must have been agonizing, but at least now there’s a small sense of closure with the guilty verdict. It doesn’t bring James back, but hopefully, it allows his family to start healing from this tragedy.

I've been following this case closely and can't help but feel for James' family and friends as they navigate this incredibly stressful time. One aspect that really struck me was the detail about the journals found in Gerome Phillips' possession. It's disturbing to think that someone could meticulously plan such a heinous act and actually go through with it. The very idea that Phillips documented these intentions is chilling and adds an even darker layer to this tragedy. I'm relieved to see that the evidence against him was so robust and that the jury reached a swift verdict. Justice may have been served, but it still doesn't bring James back or fill the void left in the lives of those who loved him. I really hope that they can find some peace and healing as the sentencing approaches.
