Did anyone else see the recent vigil held for Tyshaun "TyTy" Hargrove? I wasn’t able to attend, but I heard it was an incredibly moving tribute to his memory. It's just so sad to think about all the potential he had, both in basketball and in life. I read that his AAU coach, Robert McKiver, had some really heartfelt words to share about Tyshaun's passion for the game and his character off the court. It’s devastating to think a kid with such a bright future is now gone. It’s also heartbreaking to consider Tyshaun's family, especially knowing he had a young child. His absence will leave a huge void. I really hope the community can come together to support them during this difficult time. The senseless violence has to stop, and it breaks my heart that it’s taking away young lives too soon. If anyone has insights on what’s planned to further support his family or ways to help, please do share.

Hey everyone, I just can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy has had on Tyshaun "TyTy" Hargrove's basketball community and his coach, Robert McKiver. It’s unimaginable how devastating it must be for them to lose a kid with so much promise. McKiver mentioned how much TyTy loved the game, and it breaks my heart to think about all the potential and dreams that were lost that night. AAU teams like Elm City Elite often feel like a second family. These teams don’t just teach skills—they build bonds, foster a sense of belonging, and help kids like TyTy chase their dreams. I can't imagine how tough it must be for his teammates and coach, knowing they'll never see his bright smile or watch him play on the court again. It's moments like this that remind us how essential it is to have strong community support systems and outreach programs, beyond just sports, to help steer kids away from violence and keep them safe. To everyone in New Haven, please stay strong and take care of each other. If you know anything about that night, please consider stepping forward. Even the smallest piece of information might help bring justice for TyTy. My thoughts are with all of you ?
