I’ve been thinking a lot about the role Goodwin’s foster mother, Dane Scates, is playing in all of this. It must be incredibly difficult for her, not only losing someone she loved but also stepping up to raise awareness about domestic violence. After everything she’s been through, turning her grief into action shows such strength. I can’t imagine how heavy this burden must be for her, yet she’s out there trying to make a difference, hopefully preventing others from experiencing this kind of tragedy. Does anyone know if she’s been involved in any specific awareness campaigns or organizations since the incident? It would be inspiring to see this community rallying around such a cause.

I was reading up on the case of Candace Goodwin, and it really makes me reflect on the importance of community and support networks. Her foster mom, Dane Scates, spoke out after the tragedy, emphasizing the need to address domestic violence. It’s so powerful to see someone channel their grief into advocacy and try to create positive change out of such a devastating event. It's a reminder that we should all be proactive in supporting our loved ones who might be in difficult situations and make sure they know they aren’t alone. Sending much love and strength to Candace's family and friends as they navigate this unbearably tough time. Does anyone know if any local organizations in Connecticut are doing work in her memory? Curious if there are ways we can contribute to the cause.
