I’ve been thinking a lot about the vigil that the East Granby community held for Doreen Jacius. It was such a powerful event and seemed to bring everyone together in a moment of shared grief. Doreen’s contributions to the East Granby Public Library really touched so many lives; it’s clear from the community’s reaction that she was truly loved and appreciated. During the vigil, many spoke about her dedication, her warmth, and the joy she brought to the library. It struck me how one person's kindness and commitment can deeply affect so many. If anything, this tragedy has underscored the importance of community support. I hope keeping her memory alive can provide some solace to those who knew her. My heart goes out to the family, as they deal with such an unimaginable loss. I think we could all honor her legacy by continuing to support each other and the library she cared for so deeply.
