I’ve been reading up on the tragic death of Chief John "Jack" Donahue, and one aspect of the case that really struck me is the bravery he showed up until his last moments. Approaching a violent suspect armed with nothing but a revolver speaks to his dedication to the community and to the immense risks officers take on a daily basis. It’s moments like these that make me appreciate law enforcement officers everywhere, who often face these dangers head-on. My thoughts are with Chief Donahue’s loved ones and the whole Hot Springs community who must have felt his loss deeply. It’s important that we keep telling these stories to remember the real human stories behind the badge.
